Samuel Farrell & Mariah Staelens
are getting married.

September 19, 2025
High Cliff & The West Edison Rivery
Appleton, Wisconsin

We are so happy to invite you to our wedding!

Ceremony
High Cliff State Park, 2pm

Reception
West Edison Rivery, 4pm – 10:30pm

We are getting married on September 19th and we can’t wait to celebrate with each and every one of you.

The ceremony will take place at The Gathering Space pavilion in High Cliff State Park, right by observation tower at 2pm. Everyone is welcome, including kiddos! Entrance to the State Park for the afternoon will be free to wedding guests, so please let the Park Rangers know you’re there for the Farrell-Staelens Wedding when you arrive and they’ll tell you where you’re going and let you through. The pavilion is covered, so rain or shine, we’re getting hitched.

Reception to follow at The West Edison Rivery, in Downtown Appleton at 4pm. This will be a semi-formal-to-formal affair. Come in whatever makes you feel the best! We love your kids. Bring them! There will be live music by Big Mouth, Charcuterie table by Boards & Bites, Coffee by Little Birdies Treats & Coffee, Full Bar by Valley Liquor, and BBQ Buffet with Mac & Cheese Bar by 4 Schmidts and Giggles BBQ.

We will have an open bar all night. Use code farrellwedding for a discount on your Uber ride home!

More details about the day

Registry

We have lived together awhile now and really have everything we need, so don’t feel obligated to get us anything—we really just want to see you all!

We’d love a card from you to commemorate the wedding, and if you’d like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, we are planning a trip to Europe next year. For those of you who would like to get us a little something, we’ve made a simple registry, which includes the option to gift directly to the honeymoon fund:

What to wear

Wear whatever makes you comfortable! The ceremony and reception will be a semi-formal to formal event (not black tie or anything), but there’s a chance it’s really hot and we’d rather you be comfortable than anything else.

You’ll look great either way!

The ceremony is in a State Park, but the path to the Pavilion were we’re getting hitched is paved, so you won’t need to worry about trekking through the wilderness in heels if that’s what you’re planning on wearing. You might, however, want to bring a change of shoes for dancing later.

Food & drink

There will be a charcuterie table by Boards & Bites with cheeses, meats, and small bites followed by a BBQ Buffet with Mac & Cheese Bar by 4 Schmidts and Giggles BBQ. There should be enough options here for our friends with restricted diets, but please let us know if there’s anything you need!

An espresso cart for all your cold and hot caffeine needs will be provided by Little Birdies Treats & Coffee from 4pm-7pm. There will be a full open bar all night, so plan accordingly! We can’t wait to party and celebrate with everybody, but we want to ensure everybody gets back to their houses/hotels/what-have-you safely.

Transportation

The ceremony is at High Cliff State Park, which is about a 20 minute drive from the reception location (The Rivery). Entrance to the State Park for the afternoon will be free to wedding guests, so please let the Park Rangers know you’re there for the Farrell-Staelens Wedding. There is ample parking available, but it might make sense to work out some car pooling for those coming from the same location.

The West Edison Rivery is walkable to downtown, where I’m sure some of us will inevitably end up after the reception ends at 10:30pm. If you’re planning on taking a ride-share, use the code farrellwedding for a discount on your Uber ride home!

Entertainment

There will be live music by Big Mouth and the Power Tool Horns, who rule, so bring your dancing shoes. There may or may not be some special guest performances.

Things to do

There is a lot going on in Appleton and the surrounding area the weekend of the wedding, and we hope that you get a chance to explore our home.

Irish Fest is happening a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the reception location at Jones Park on the 19th and 20th. Irish Fest has been a Staelens family staple for years. Get the details on Irish Fest here.

Sturgeon Bay Harvest Fest is September 20th this year. Sturgeon Bay is in Door County, which is a bit of a drive, but it’s an absolutely beautiful place and we can’t recommend the trip enough. Here are the details for Harvest Fest.

The weather

While both the ceremony at High Cliff and the reception at the West Edison Rivery are both mostly covered venues, they are open to the elements. Late September in Wisconsin is a bit of a wild card. We will keep an eye on the forecast as we get closer.

Historically the highs are around 75°F during the afternoon and drop to around 50°F at night, so consider a light jacket or sweater for the evening. Sometimes it’s crazy hot though, so we’ll see. Since both locations are covered, we will be there rain or shine.

Questions?

We are happy to help in any way we can, so just send Mariah or Sam (or both!) a text or call with any questions. You can email us at [email protected]. If you need to confirm dietary needs, accessibility, change an RSVP, etc, don’t hesitate to reach out!
